Brighton Park Neighborhood Council (BPNC)’s Promotoras De Salud Program addresses physical, behavioral, and mental health needs in Brighton Park through culturally appropriate health, nutrition, and wellness education programming for community residents regardless of ability to pay and immigration status. A committee of over 70 residents, social service organizations, and other community stakeholders participate in planning and implementing the program, guided by a commitment to community engagement. Informed by the results of its annual survey of more than 650 families, BPNC identifies emerging health challenges and service gaps, allowing the Promotoras to respond with targeted programs and resources to current needs.  By removing barriers to service provision, Promotoras ensures the residents of Brighton Park get the resources they need.
